Both Ends of the Pedestrian Bridge

End of Bob Kerry Pedestrian Bridge Omaha
The Omaha Nebraska end of the Bob Kerry Pedestrian Bridge still has a bit of construction going on when this picture was taken in October 2008. That should make no difference to anyone wanting to cross this new bridge, there is no interference with actual users of the bridge. I must add that the landscaping in progress smelled a bit like a barnyard, but that fertilizer smell should go away.

Bob Kerry Pedestrian Bridge Council Bluffs
On the Council Bluffs Iowa side, there is a bit more going on. Beneath the bridge construction equipment is busy. Just guessing, but perhaps this will be the addition to what is currently called Playland Park. We can eventually expect some major change in the overall appearance on the Council Bluffs side with the increase in park size, and new projects going on there.

That’s a pretty long bridge. Wasn’t Google going to set up an office in Council Bluffs?

Yes, Council Bluffs will have a Google Data Center (2009 completion) and La Vista (an Omaha “suburb”) will have a Yahoo Data Center.
Omaha also has a big PayPal office along the Missouri River.
We’re not all cows and cornfields, despite that rumor.
