Bob Kerry Pedestrian Bridge

Bob Kerry Pedestrian Bridge
Yesterday was unusually nice for February in Nebraska, and we took advantage of the pleasant weather and walked across the Missouri River on the Bob Kerry Pedestrian Bridge. This was our second walk across it.
If you are in Omaha Nebraska or Council Bluffs Iowa and have some time to spare, we'd both recommend walking across this bridge. It's not too long, not too steep, and it doesn't bounce around too much. You may notice the bouncing only when you stand still to admire the view.
We started on the Omaha side, and here's a picture Vicky took of the bridge. Behind the trees is Playland Park in Council Bluffs Iowa.

Playland Park Council Bluffs
Though there weren't too many people at Playland Park, there were quite a few cars parked in the lot. Perhaps they were walking across the bridge or using the biking/walking trail the goes along the river.
It is nice to be able to walk to this park from Omaha. We've driven to Council Bluffs several times in the past, parked the car, then ridden our bikes on the trail from here.
Note: I don't think we'll ever ride our bikes across the Omaha Council Bluffs pedestrian bridge, it's been way too crowded both times we were on it.

River Critters Play Area
Back in Omaha, we did spend a bit of time wandering through the River Critters Environmental Play Area. The 60 degree (?) weather was just too nice to head right back home.
Length of this walk: 1.4 miles
Miles walked this year: 2.7 miles
