We Left Wisconsin For This?
Finally the snow plow has made its way down our Omaha neighborhood street, and though snow packed, it still looks quite nice compared to earlier today, and it should be back to work in the morning, of course, that depends on the whims of Mother Nature. Yep, this storm kept me at home today, as well as many others in Omaha, I assume.

Omaha Blizzard
We spent quite a bit of time last time shoveling snow, with the plan of creating an easy exit from our driveway this morning, and things didn't look too bad when we headed indoors after shoveling. When we were almost done I snuck in to get the camera, then back outdoors and took a few night time pictures of the snow.
However, overnight the wind came up, and we were soon in blizzard conditions for many an hour, and this morning we discovered last night's work was all for nothing, everything we had shoveled out was buried with an even deeper amount of snow.
Our street was impassible.
Sighing...
Okay, I called in to work early this morning, and somewhat impatiently waited for the winds to calm down, but by mid day I was getting anxious to get started, so we went out and shoveled the driveway and walk for the second time for this storm. This was some cold windy snow shoveling today.
I did notice our neighbor tried to get in to work, but made it about 25 feet down the street before getting stuck this morning. They did manage to at least get their car shoveled out enough to make it another ten feet or so to the curb, where it sits now.
Before this street was plowed, only one other driver (other than a 4 wheel drive) attempted our street, and they did get stuck too. Note: the 4 wheel drive made it, but left quite a deep pair of ruts in the snow.

I'll add this photo of Vicky also taken last night, when we were hoping that we were all done shoveling out. Perhaps she wouldn't have looked so pleased at the results if she only knew we'd have to redo our work all over again today, but at an even colder temperature with strong winds.
For what it's worth, the Omaha temperature is now at 6 degrees (above), just about where it has been all day long, though the winds are only 8 mph now.
Sometime during the afternoon a kind neighbor hit our sidewalk and driveway entrance to the street with a snow blower, and it looks quite nice. Thank you.
We are waiting for spring...
